Sophie is a classically trained pianist, sousaphonist, accordionist, and music educator who is dedicated to promoting equity and opportunity in music and the arts.​
She graduated magna cum laude from UCLA, completing a major in music education; minor in film, television, and digital media; and a K-12 California single-subject teaching credential in music.

Prior to studying at UCLA, she earned a Grand Diplôme in Pastry Arts with highest honors from the International Culinary Center, and Associate Degrees with highest honors in music, psychology, and Spanish at Laney College in Oakland.

Sophie got her start as a music educator at Buff Elementary School in Madras, Oregon through a collaboration between the national service organization, AmeriCorps and the Oregon nonprofit, Ethos Music Center. Through this collaboration, she provided in-school music instruction to K-5th grade students and led a tuition-free after-school instrumental and choral program for K-8th grade students.

Since then, Sophie has worked with the nonprofit organizations, Music for Minors and P.S. ARTS, bringing music education to TK-5th grade students in the San Mateo/Foster City Unified School District, San José Unified School District, Castro Valley Unified School District, and Los Angeles Unified School District.​​​
She currently teaches TK-5th grade general music and violin classes in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, in addition to piano lessons through her private studio.
