Sophie is passionate about inspiring students to develop a lifelong love of learning and is committed to providing students from every background and economic situation with an excellent musical foundation.

She believes that children learn best when their education is relevant to them and aims to create a music classroom which welcomes every child’s voice through student-centered learning, providing opportunities for students to share the music of their cultures and explore the musical styles and instruments that interest them.

In individual lesson and group settings, Sophie strives to create a balanced curriculum that builds a comprehensive foundation of musicianship and music literacy along with a lifelong love of learning, inspiring students to achieve their goals not only in music, but in any area they choose to pursue.
